Hi, my name is

David.

I code smart things.

The tech world is full of hype. I prefer projects that speak for themselves. Explore and decide the verdict…

About Me

I’m David Rutkevich, a high school student driven by the potential of artificial intelligence to transform industries and shape our future. My passion lies in developing practical AI solutions that solve real-world problems, particularly in the realm of healthcare and scientific research.

With a foundation in Python, I’ve delved into projects ranging from disease detection using computer vision to applying AI for economic analysis. My work on blood cell analysis earned me a publication in a scientific journal, and I was a winner of the national Jugend Forscht competition in Germany. These experiences have cemented my love of taking an idea from research and prototyping all the way to a functional system.

Here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:
  • JAX
  • PyTorch
  • Rust
  • DeltaLake
  • Weights&Bisases
  • React

Experience

Founder - SeesDisease
May 2023 - present
I am the Co-founder of SeesDisease, my main contribution were the novel weakly-supervised learning algorithms for cell segmentation.
Volunteer - HS Emden Leer
Sep 2023 - Jul 2024

I am currently supporting economic research through the application of artificial intelligence and modern data analysis techniques. My work includes:

  • Initiating a research project exploring the use of multimodal language models to control robots in complex, scenario-based environments.
  • Applying my AI expertise to assist with ongoing economic research projects.
Software Developer - Open-source
Sep 2020 - present
  • Contribute to projects focused on scientific imaging, machine learning, and healthcare technology.
  • Enhanced several projects by fixing bugs, refactoring code, and improving documentation.
  • Developed and published a novel CNN architecture for blood cell analysis, demonstrating my proficiency in Python and deep learning.

Education

2021 - 2023
Abitur
Ubbo-Emmius-Gymnasium
GPA: High B | German: 2.2

Extracurricular Activities

  • Initiated the programming club, where I taught students the basics of Python and machine learning.
  • Participated and won various national competitions in mathematics and computer science.
2021 - 2021
CS50x
Harvard University
GPA: 100%
  • Completed the course with a perfect score, demonstrating my proficiency in C, Python, and web development.
  • Developed a web application that simulates the spread of infectious diseases, which was featured in the course’s showcase.

Projects

SeesDisease
SeesDisease
SeesDisease empowers pathologists with a powerful AI platform that combines large computer vision models with self-learning capabilities. This delivers accurate, fast results and enables the creation of custom models without the need for extensive annotation.
CellAlyse
CellAlyse
CellAlyse eliminates the tedious and error-prone process of manual blood analysis. Powered by Python, TensorFlow, and cutting-edge AI, it automates cell identification and counting. CellAlyse's unique features, including a 3D printable microscope, enable greater efficiency and accessibility in hematology.
Dr.Acula
Dr.Acula
Dr. Acula investigates machine learning for medical image classification. Utilizing Python, Rust, and SciPy, this project focuses on white blood cell (leukocyte) identification through feature extraction and SVM classification.

Achievements

MINT-EC with distinction
Awarded the highest STEM (ger. MINT) Certification in Germany in recognition of my outstanding competition achievements, extracurricular contributions to computer science and mathematics, and strong academic performance.
Top 10 in Business Plan Competition
SeesDisease, my AI-powered healthcare company, achieved a top 10 placement out of ~1700 entries in the prestigious Youth Founds business plan competition.
